Peter Rushton
Chief Executive Officer
Peter joined Optimum in early 2009 from Xchanging procurement services (XPS), where he was the Managing Director responsible for an international team of 200 staff and annual revenues of over £170M. Having co-founded XPS in 2001, Peter was highly instrumental in growing XPS to be one of Europe's leading procurement service providers.
Peter brings 25 years business experience to Optimum, including having previously headed the purchasing function at both Caradon PLC and British Sugar. He is an established senior procurement practitioner with an extensive international sourcing and supply chain pedigree. He has delivered significant commercial results for leading organisations across a broad spectrum of industry sectors, including those in aerospace, FMCG, food processing, financial services and building products.
A Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply (FCIPS), Peter is also the incoming Chairman of the Board of Management at CIPS. In addition, he is an elected CIPS Council member representing the business services sector.
Peter holds an MBA and ACCA finance qualification.
Mike Jones
Group Managing Director
Mike is a leading purchasing & supply chain professional with over 25 years business experience in delivering exceptional cost reduction results for leading organisations in both the private and public sector. He is a global practitioner and has worked on numerous breakthrough initiatives across a wide range of industry sectors. He has consistently delivered significant savings for clients within most areas of the direct and indirect goods and services portfolio.
Mike has extensive board level experience having held senior posts in industry and more recently at a leading outsourcing company and a “big four” consultancy.
Mike has pioneered new and innovative sourcing approaches to property and estates management. His methods have delivered significant cost savings for major clients and he is now firmly established as one of the UK’s leading practitioners in this field.
Mike holds a BA and MBA qualification and is MCIPS qualified.
David Griffiths
Director of Operations - Sourcing Solutions
David is a highly experienced sourcing and supply chain specialist with a proven track record in the delivery of outstanding and sustainable savings for a range of international clients. His international pedigree is enhanced by significant time spent living, travelling and working in the Far East and Asia. Whilst there, he had major success in commodities sourcing and cost reduction delivery which transformed the financial performance of the businesses involved.
David has held a variety of sourcing leadership positions within industry and immediately prior to joining Optimum enjoyed a highly successful spell as the Head of Trading in the property services arena within a major outsourcing company.
David’s procurement footprint spans both direct and indirect category expenditure. His experience includes a wide range of business sectors including the electronics, domestic appliances, electro-mechanical, FMCG, industrial products, leisure, food, property and finance/banking industries.
David is MCIPS qualified.
